Designing and Implementing Humanitarian Surveys Course

I attended the Gender and Fisheries Workshop to gain an overview of the subject for use in my teaching. The course covered a wide range of topics—comprehensive, relevant, and in many cases, highly applicable to my work. I was fortunate to receive one-to-one tuition from an excellent trainer, which greatly enriched my learning experience. The workshop was well-organized and supported by high-quality materials and readings. I came away with a deeper understanding of gender issues in fisheries, and I would strongly recommend this workshop to anyone seeking a thorough and insightful introduction to the topic.

The training enhanced my understanding of how procurement and contract audits are conducted and what auditors typically focus on, particularly the importance of accurate documentation, adherence to contract terms, and proper segregation of duties. The inclusion of case studies provided valuable references and increased my awareness of potential red flags and compliance violations. The trainer demonstrated strong subject knowledge and presented the materials in a clear and easy-to-understand manner.

The Leadership and Management Skills for New Managers and Supervisors training in Nairobi was an eye-opening and highly impactful experience for me. The sessions provided practical knowledge and valuable insights into effective leadership, team management, communication, delegation, and decision-making in the workplace. The trainer, Maureen Odhiambo, was highly professional, engaging, and knowledgeable throughout the training. She delivered the sessions in an interactive manner and shared relevant real-life examples that made the concepts easy to understand and relate to. Her approach encouraged participation, learning, and reflection on practical workplace situations. The training has greatly enhanced my understanding of leadership and management, and I feel more empowered and confident in handling supervisory and management responsibilities effectively. It was a worthwhile learning experience that will positively contribute to my professional growth and performance.

The training was very engaging. I managed to have take-away assignments with my colleague where I got to learn a lot in addition to the training. I got to know how different people resonate with different things and ideas. Good training. The tutor also allowed us to be actively engaged.

This is the second time I am undertaking a training through Trainingcred, and interestingly, both have been in Rwanda. The instructors are usually well equipped and provide relevant training material laced with personal experience. They also go out of their way to ensure that from the moment you arrive to your departure, you are well catered for.

It deepened my understanding of refugee management, legal frameworks, crisis coordination, and sustainable solutions tailored to South Sudan’s displacement context.
